If Pat still dislikes Wendy's character at this point, we know it's completely forced. Wendy was able to achieve Dragon Force by consuming her own element. Meanwhile, Natsu had to eat Laxus lightning and a shard of the Tower of Heaven. Sting and Rogue can only use Dragon Force because they're third-generation hybrids, And Gajeel still hasn't achieved Dragon Force. Additionally, Laxus and Cobra can't use Dragon Force, meaning Wendy is the only Dragon Slayer to achieve her form the right way.

Pat is right lowkey, they might have a kill count because the creator of Fairy Tail made a previous anime before FT where he was CONSTANTLY killing off characters so it was said that his editors(or whatever idk who exactly) stopped him from killing off certain characters too soon. He wanted to kill off Makarov the first time but they told him not to.

To Wellz point, it’s different with how Wendy breathes. Breathing normally doesn’t fuel her power, she has to activate her breathing dragon slayer power. She has to do it at will, it doesn’t count if she’s just breathing normally. That wouldn’t make sense and would be OP asf. She has to willing active her Dragon Slayer magic to be able to absorb power from the air. Just as Natsu has to willing make the conscious decision to eat his respective elements to gain power.

Wendy's development is insane. From her introduction she was so timid that she couldn't even throw one attack spell, to assisting Natsu and Gajeel in Edolas and the assault team on Tenrou Island. Then after the timeskip she faced off against Chelia in her first one on one. To having Mira/Laxus assist her with the fight against the Jade Dragon. And now she defeated a high tier demon of the books of Zeref without relying on assistance from others like past fights. AND SHE'S 13!!! She's practically the Gohan of this show. There's so much potential within her. PUT SOME RESPECT ON HER NAME

Pat has to understand Wendy's development. She's the youngest dragon slayer and wasn't raised to fight until she got sent on that mission. That was her first time being in that type of environment. She's training as she goes and has no one to help her until she joined Fairy Tail. It's annoying he never gave her chance. And if he's acting like this at this point because of Jerry, that's even worse.

I'm not gonna be one of these weirdos who comments on every Fairy Tail upload bitching but I can say I didn't like the way the Wendy scene was handled because like yall said, after a while you don't believe any of the "deaths" and they do this quite a bit and for this scene specifically, I felt very burned when they survived because they had me in tears thinking they died. That's one of the few gripes I have with the show because if the intention isn't to kill the character then don't do the whole montage about it however when people do die in Fairy Tail, it means much more. I get the perspective yall have with this though.

I knew Pat was gonna pull that "Ezel looks weak" BS to try and diminish Wendy's moment. So allow me to enlighten you. At the start of the arc in the Manga, Mashima himself actually ranked all of the Nine Demon Gates. Silver>Kyoka>Torafuzar>Tempester>Ezel>Seilah>Jackal>Frammalth>Keyes. Also, Mashima actually said in an interview "I shoehorned in the scene with Doranbolt because I didn't want people to think that Wendy and Carla were going to die." He literally wasn't even trying to do a fake out death in that instance. The montage exists for people like Pat who need the blatant character development beaten upside their head with a stick. Since this is something neither of them would have done when they were first introduced. Wendy due to being shy and scared of any confrontation and Carla due to basically not giving a crap. It shows how they've both grown in different ways.

This right here. She legit has one of the best character development arcs in the series. It's gradual, it's consistent, and it's all shown on-screen. And that last part is something that only applies to a select few. (Also the reason why Gajeel is the best reformed male villain).
