Inking Practice and more (Patreon)

Sorry for lack of posts. There was a bit of personal drama recently, and I've been doing research on how to best develop my personal drawing style.
I am sick as fuck right now... Drinking water non-stop to try and get better fast... unghhh.... Where's my prescription codeine... (I don't use antibiotics because I would prefer to keep my immune system strong.) Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.
Anyway, just thought I ought to refine my inking technique, most notably with using more solid black areas, to make it look more manga/comic-like.

Above: Don't you just wanna run your fingers through Mikey's hair?
Oh hi Quincey. Haven't seen you in a while. Did your hair get curlier?
.... I need to draw more black people. This face was a bit more challenging than it should have been, so I might do more of him to get some practice.
This was my first attempt at the new inking style. Trying to force myself to use more solid blacks and line weight variety.
I lied. THIS was the first attempt. Yeesh. I'm really trying to make my art better. This one has virtually no line weight variety, and no areas of solid black. I'm learning as I go. Trying to develop.
And here's the sketches. I didn't ink the top right one because his proportions look weird.

>tfw your idiot friend is an hour late...
I dunno why I put this in the post. I just really like these particular colors.
