It follows from this argument of Hange that we should do everything in our hands to stop the rumbling, but Isayama is making sure that following through with this premise is as hard as possible. Armin's plan had 0% chance of success, but I'm glad he still tried to find a way around killing all of these people. At the end, as Yelena said, "Nothing can take the violence out of people" and conflict here was always inevitable. To be honest, the first time I saw Berthold break down in episode 2x11 I felt no sympathy for him. His actions, the fact he was still fighting our guys, it all just seemed impossible to justify. However, watching Connie killing his friends in this episode did give me a new perspective and appreciation for that scene. By the way, Samuel was the guy that Sasha rescued at the end of episode 1x04 when the Colossal Titan reappeared. He could frequently be seen in the first seasons hanging around Connie and Sasha. Daz was the guy that Ymir and Historia rescued when they made the "promise under the snowy mountain" all the way back in epsiode 2x05. In other words, Ymir risked her Titan secret to save Daz, just so that he could be killed by Connie after becoming a Jaegerist...

Hello Ola!! Krul already mentioned who Samuel and Daz was in the previous seasons (the 2 guys that conny killed). They were close friends over the last several years but they didn't have much scene time. I'm okay with conny showing sympathy for them because they were close friends. However, this brings me back to my point about Louise and Mikasa. If Mikasa was close friends with Louise for the last several years then Mikasa most likely would have shown sympathy for her while she was dying. I doubt conny would have shown that much sympathy If he barley knew them. I know I'm beating a deadhorse but I just don't understand why people hate on mikasa for not showing sympathy to Louise. Great reaction as always. Can't wait for 4x28 (well actually all the remaining episodes are great though... especially the last one).

I do understand why Mikasa just left. It's a tough world and showing sympathy to everyone all around would be a sign of weakness that could threaten our own well-being. It's difficult to be there for everyone all the time when you are trying to survive. I wouldn't be too harsh on Mikasa, she had no obligation to show sympathy just because Louise liked her.
