Spent the day off working on a summer Nick illustration and I think it came out okay! He's drinking a piña colada (my favourite "summer" drink) with a few blueberries as garnish and rockin' his summer trunks today. I love getting to the end of a piece and making alt versions so I saved a purple-ish option as well. Hopefully I can maintain or improve my quality for the WildeHopps calendar submission (which I'll share as a physical print to any interested -- I'm taking November)!

So that was summer fun. Now let's do late-night tears.

Uncle Nick

Welcome to the Uncle Nick section! Created during a stream with artist Beatz last Monday, this was from an episodic concept I've yet to drop from the writing board.

If you don't like potential spoilers, please stop here - thank you for coming!

Okay?...Okay!

While the series focuses on Nick as the protagonist and Judy as the deuteragonist, Cotton does have her own highlight episodes and this is potentially one of them. The TL;DR of this episode is that a new character is thrown into the fray of this quasi-blended "framily"; a stowaway who found a less-dangerous way to visit Judy in Zootopia this time - Molly Hopps. I found a way to use her in this story so I'm running with it! Molly is a happy-go-lucky 4 1/2 year old with a bit of a reckless streak -- a common trait within Hopps rabbits, apparently! The trio + Cotton's parents find her in the baggage the parents bring over after re-visiting from Bunnyburrow. While Judy and Nick agree to babysit her as well to avoid involving Bonnie and Stu - or going back to BB to return her - Cotton is not pleased with having another kid in the house that could potentially usurp her place . After Cotton reaches her limit she closes herself off in Judy's bedroom and, unlike her typical behaviour, is unwilling to reach back out. Nick finds an in and we find ourselves in the scene above.

Below we have the following day (or Sunday), where the previous episode's uneasiness has been resolved. Not a solid idea, but here Cotton has finally reached the cookie jar with Molly's help after the two are left home alone on accident; they are not the main plot of this episode and are used as cutaways from Plot A. So perhaps Molls has three episodes she's in!

Kinda nerdy, but I've differentiate the two by colour palette, ear length, nose shapem and head/cheek shape. Molly looks more like a young Judy while Cotton has chubby little cheeks; all elements I've noticed between the two that I'm building off of. Cotton also will rarely have "mascara" eyes while Molly will have lined eyelids and full eyelashes like Judy. While they're both technically the same height, if ears are excluded Cotton is technically taller than Molly. Just some random character design notes there!

Might be time to post that new series bible... we'll see about that :>

Thanks for reading!
