So...a new 3D-VR360 is budding. I wish to share a dilemma I already had before.

there are two ways I consider rendering my VR projects. the first one - is on stereo. this way, I render images of 2160*2160, or 2520*2520 at most, in an over/under method - which actually gives two images: one is for the left eye, and one is for the right. this creates the illusion of depth within the VR realm.

this is what I chose on the former projects.

The other way, is doing a mono renders - but bump up the resolution to 3840*1920. you lack the sense of depth illusion, but you get crispier, sharper and more detailed renders.

some curious folks might ask: why not get the whole cake? why not render in 3840*3840?
this is actually a decent question. the answer is complicated. the obvious reason is resources. rendering each image takes a couple of hours (!), and that's on a pretty decent pc with a pretty decent GPU. this problem will become smaller when my new addition arrives, and can be dressed even now if I'll decide not to include any animations at all in the project. the thing is, there's another problem - and that's actually in premiere's resolution work limit (this one will probably be fixed in the near future, hopefully).

anyway, enough tech stuff. which one do you prefer? :)

*attached are two samples, for those of you who wish to check on their VR headsets and compare :).
