In the op, when it shows the group of them walking.... Ruby gets further and further behind in each setting, and looking sadder and sadder as well. I think she may end up reaching a new low at some point, and it's possible it may have something to do with that girl, who I assume to be Alex (this series' version of Alice). Also the transition from the portrait of Neo to who I assume to be Alex on the beach made it seem like Neo transformed into her or something, but we'll see.
