Maybe the movement of both the other players were hinting at a specific play or tactic to score a goal and Aoi was thinking in a tactic FOR HIM to score a goal.

The 11 on 21 is an interesting practice style. There are instances in which a team might play a man up or a man down (if there is a red card or a temporary injury that the team doesn't want to spend a substitute on). Perhaps the focus was on the fact that a smaller team can play effective defense, even against overwhelming numbers, by focusing on shutting down the passing lanes and defending space instead of individuals (think playing zone defense instead of man-to-man). At the same time, one of the first things you learn in soccer is that the ball moves faster than a player. Passing is faster than dribbling. Being able to implement one or two touch passing can allow a team with fewer numbers to defeat a team with many more players by simply passing around and behind the defenders who can't catch up to the ball. Maybe the drill was intended, not so much to show the B team how much better the A team was, but to get them to recognize the things the A team does better, so the B team can focus on improving those skills?

Yep, if it was just about A being better there's not much point because of course they're better lmao, there's stuff to be learned from them
