Once again I'm here to ask all of you for short story prompts! I'll take the more popular ones as decided by the number of hearts (or that I particularly like) in the comments and make a poll at the start of the month. The winner will be made into a short story of a thousand or so words.

Not many rules on what you can suggest at the moment. That will mostly be figured out as we go. Besides that, the short story will come out before the end of the next month.

Rules for prompts:

  • No NSFW (Patreon would get testy about that)
  • No prompts about anything directly related to my current stories (can't be something the MCs would come across)
  • Not doing depression or similar

A Dungeon Inspector ends up rating a “great” dungeon of over 100 floors as “NSFW” because of its particularly poor survival rate, and in turn bans adventurers from entering it- this causes a Great Depression for the economy of the surrounding kingdom, hijinx ensue as the dungeon tries to idiot proof itself whilst what few adventures able to enter practically throw themselves into unintended death traps.

Earth is not magically barren. Instead, the magic is simply too dense for normal magic to function. When a class of magic students from an alternate world get isekaied to Earth, it is only the class dunce, who can only use runes and rituals to cast, that can function normally. (Rephrasing of a previous prompt of mine that ALMOST won)

The Humble Priest:- In many stories which feature a Church, particularly a Church of Light/Good Guys, they are almost always corrupt, power hungry and secretly evil (and the God is okay with this???) For once, I want a story where Church members simply perform their duties and nothing more. Providing council for the masses, aid for the unfortunate, guiding souls to rest in the afterlife, etc. All with the full and visible endorsement of their God

Bonus points if you make use of one of my homebrew pantheon:- Patchi, the Goddess of Rest Alignment: NG Domains: Dreams, Healing, Protection Depiction: A young foxgirl with many tails, dressed in a nightgown holding a teddy bear Common worshippers: Innkeepers, Caretakers, Nurses, Parents of young children Favoured Item: Teddy Bear or other cuddly toy Description: Patchi is among the Major Gods of the Pantheon, if only due to many praying to her as a secondary faith, as Patchi's main goal is to provide rest to the weary and ward off nightmares. She abhors those who force others to work beyond their limits, and forgives those who volunteer for the duty of nightwatch for the safety of others.

Personally I’d vote for it if it had the added irony of this openly being the church of *Darkness*, with all the added blood magic and necromancy that implies… being used for purely benevolent purposes, much to the horror of the corrupt priests of the light church.

Seasons have avatars/ seeasons are beeings. They are on good-ish tearms with each other. Theiry favorite pasttime and enjoyment is messing with people. They have their own rules about that and is reason why they are on good-ish terms with each other. Story abot that. Example. Winter makes one guy cold for the whole summer, things like that

A hero travels to the past to prevent the End of Civilization. He realizes everything that happened is because of what he's doing now, and every time he tries to change things, it turns into exactly what happened, or what will happen. Depending on your point of view. And is it really a bad thing?

Sounds like the more mischievous side of the Fey Courts, except just four persons. I guess it's something to while away the ages, trying to find the perfect prank
