So both my stories are coming up on a point where a monster is going to be in needed. With the recent jump in patrons now felt like a good time to start doing more patron input so here we are. You can make suggestions for either one, just put NR before a NeoRealm suggestion and D'sP before a Dungeon's Path suggestion.

Anyway, with NeoRealm it is fairly obvious (if you're reading the early access chapters, spoilers I guess if you aren't) that Lily will fight a boss and breakthrough to level ten. The boss is already planned (redeath rose slug). However, I need another monster for after that. I want a tough battle for the group to face right after which she can join in on and be a legit help. Now normally I would probably use some random encounter table on the web as a muse but instead of that I come to you all. Any suggestions for a monster or group of monsters that the party can fight are appreciated. If it isn't a 'common' monster feel free to describe it a bit though I reserve the right to change anything I need to. Also, if the person who suggests it want me to I can totally put mention them and the fact that they thought it up in the after chapter notes so if you want that say you do and what you want me to call you in the note (though the name needs to be reasonable, no curses words for instance).

In Dungeon's Path Jim is offscreen at the moment deep in the forest.  Soon he will be returning to town and when he saunters in he is going to let a nice big old bomb drop on the founders. There is a monster making its way towards the dungeon and that monster is a major threat. This has been planned for a while but I hadn't thought of a monster to use yet. Doyle's dungeon is putting out all that nice pure energy and this threat has been on its way for a while. Feel free to suggest whatever monsters you think would work for it. Also, like with the NeoRealm suggestion, if I choose to use your suggestion and you want me to mention you say so and include a name.

Roethan

Do you have any ideas as to what it should have as traits? Slow moving seems most likely. A plant based monster like a final fantasy style Morbol possibly? Or something that burrows through the earth like a giant worm.

Roethan

Some type of giant ooze would also work. Or a rock based armadillo.

A dire wolf could be interesting, I think wolves have a rather large hunting ground, so I think it would make sense that Jim starts to find less and less game in the forest since the wolf and maybe a pack it's taken over have hunted most things around and have now caught scent of the dungeon. Depending on which lore you use a dire wolf could be as large or larger than a horse, plus I think wolves going after goats could have a little bit of the big bad wolf going after sheep/goats. May be a little too vanilla for some people's tastes though.

I'd either go for a wolf/pack, a bear, goblin or a deer/moose variant for DP. Wolfs, bears and goblins may be too vanilla or boreing for most people when it comes to monsters attacking a village, town, dungeon ect. But you can do a lot to said creaturs/monster/beast that makes more sense than fire breathing seagull with lizard skin or a man eating lighting infused plant monster coming out of nowhere. It also fit your story first arc/act(?) very well. The deer/moose idea comes from when I told you about The Dungeon Researchers story. I remember that these two beast are know to attack anything close, bigger or smaller their size, have violent tempers, are ranked between e-d in the story, travels long distance and are most often a earth variant. The diffrents between the two, the deer will eat you after it kills you, are a little faster than the moose and jumps like a rabbit. While the moose will just kill you, breaks rocks or eat them, and will leave you alone if one can get far away from it. I hope this helps.

The rock armadillo sounds amazing though with the other comments it seems that a wolf pack would fit better at the moment. Will have to file rocky away for now.

The wolf pack idea has caught my fancy. As for being vanilla I have a plan. This is early on so a pack won't be some homogeneous mass. It won't be a pack of 'shadow' wolves or a pack of 'blood' wolves. There will be a great variety of wolves in the pack with probably a dire wolf in charge.

Unless someone comes up with another better idea I think in D'sP I am going to go with a wolf pack. To make it so it isn't too boring I am going to have the wolf pack be very varied. Since it is so soon since the system has integrated everything the packs won't be one type yet. The idea of a moose however is very interesting and has potential. Will have to file it away.
