"There's absolutely no way"... I thought to myself when I checked to see if I had done an episode about the Alien franchise. Turns out, yep, I haven't. We recently saw Alien: Romulus at the pictures which we thought was EXCELLENT hot shit, so let's have a lovely chat about the whole hideous (but strangely cosy) universe.

I absolutely forgot to mention Alien vs. Predator which I have not seen because it looks like solid cack.

Contains heavy spoilers for most movies including Alien: Romulus

In the conversation about sequels that are generally regarded as being better than the first, I’d say the only other one worth mentioning (in addition to Aliens & Godfather Part 2) is Terminator 2

Hello my lovely Lymp💜 Sorry about the confusion. Yes, it was Branston Pickle we talked about 😆 I don’t usually watch a movie more than once but this is a shockingly amazing sequel which I will definitely see again! Totally watchable as a standalone. Although there was a lot of suspensee, we were gripping our seats from the birth scene to the ending, which did seem to keep coming again & again & again. We were exhausted from it 😂! Even then we fully expected another shoe to drop. Too bad there were no post credit scenes. OMG! Can we talk about the hideousness of the hybrid?! Soooo gross, especially the scarecrow patch of genitalia!!! Did you notice how its tail was growing as it was 'feeding?' Eeeeww!! One thing though that didn’t translate well was the teeth. I think the idea was to make his mouth seem scary because his teeth were shiny metallic same as the Xenomorph but he just ended up looking like he had bad braces 😬🤣. Overall superb job on the creatures! The two-tongue attacking the helmet and the melted face from being exposed to deep space, yikes! Just terrifying! Tons of great jump scares! Love you & Nova’s new Absolute Agony segment! Keep it going. Looking forward to all the new content coming, sounds great fun💋💛💜

I LOVED Romulus so much! It had a real believable grimey aesthetic and was atmospheric and claustrophobic. The actor playing Andy did such a good job essentially playing two characters. I'm not sure if you picked up on it, but when he was "good" Andy he had an American accent, but when he was "villain" Andy he had an English accent. It didn't shy away from the gore or horror aspects either.... it was a really good theatre going experience! Fede Alvarez is such a good horror director
