“Hello there! Welcome to Bath and Body Works!” a cheerful opossum in black pants and a blue shirt bearing the toiletry store’s branding chirped as she saw Alex approaching the store. Which were you looking to get?” the opossum bounced around, did hand gestures to the different shelves with the different product categories with enthusiasm that Alex almost had trouble keeping up with. “Sure! How many? Two of each?” the store clerk raised a brow and tilted her head to the side, eager to assist her customer.

The tigress nodded, “Yes, that would be perfect, thank you.”

The opossum smiled, nodded, and squeaked happily, “Of course! I’ll grab them for you!” She then skipped her way around to the different shelves in the store, grabbing two of each that Alex had specified and brought them over to the checkout counter. “Thanks,” Alex said back to the clerk before she stepped out of the store and walked into the main floor of the shopping mall again. “Okay, now we’re done, time to go home, Tashi’s waiting,” she cooed, walking a little bit faster across the mall floor and towards the parking garage. As she made her way across the massive mall floor, a store caught her eye. Alex stopped in her tracks and turned to look at the peculiar store. She was in the part of the mall near the parking garage, the opposite side of the anchor stores, where the smaller and more niche stores were. “Locos,” Alex read the name of the store out loud and continued to just stare at it. The store was the furthest thing from bland, from the outside it looked like a rainforest, messy and lots of deep and dark green tones. It looked like the complete opposite of the Bath and Body Works that she was just in. The tigress had been to the mall many times, but this was the first time she saw this store, was it new? The bell above the door to the peculiar Amazonian looking store jingled as Alex pushed her way inside. And I don’t want you biting me in the middle of the night hungry for meat.” Tashi chuckled and turned over his shoulder to look at Alex as she set her stuff on the dining table. He furrowed his brow, confused, “I sent you out for onions! What’s all those bags?” He asked, looking a bit puzzled, but he still turned his attention back to the steak sizzling in the pan to make sure he didn’t overcook it. He poked at it again before he reached over to the side to turn off the stove and plucked the steak out from the pan and onto a plate, letting it rest for a moment.

Alex chuckled, “I got the onions!” She lifted a bag with their local grocer’s logo plastered all over it with an abundance of onions inside. “I didn’t forget this time.” The big cat walked her way over to Tashi’s side, placed the bag of onions on the kitchen counter for him, and got on her tippy toes to plant a kiss on his lips. Tashi kissed her back and smiled. “I know you didn’t forget; my question was what’s all that other stuff on the table over there,” he grinned as he looked down at her and pointed over at the dining table. Alex turned over her shoulder to look at the dining table and the two bags she put on it before turning back to face Tashi excitedly. “OH! I bought some stuff you’ll like! Lots of mango-scented stuff from Bath and Body Works, and another thing that’s a surprise….” She cooed and got on her toes to plant a kiss on his broad snoot again.

“A surprise, huh?” Tashi snorted and shook his head. He then turned his attention to the bag of onions, ripped it open, pulled out a few onions, and began to peel them.

“Mhm, a surprise…” Alex paused, “For after dinner!” She giggled to herself. Tashi let out a chuckle of his own and nodded as he moved from peeling the onions, to putting the peeled onions onto a cutting board to cut them up. “If you say so!”

“You’ll love it!” Alex said excitedly as she walked over to the dining table and grabbed the shopping bags off from it. “Will you call me when dinner is ready?” She smiled.

“Yes, of course, I will, I promise I won’t eat a single potato without you,” the Clydesdale chuckled.

“Awesome!” the tigress squirmed before she ran off with the shopping bags and vanished.

Tashi chuckled and shook his head slowly before he resumed the music and swayed his hips side to side again as he diced up the onions.

Half an hour went by, Alex put all the candles, cream and soaps she bought away, but left the Locos bag untouched on the bed. He reached out to scoop himself some potato salad and some onion cake. He scooped some potato salad into his mouth and chewed, still watching Alex, to see her reaction to the other thing he made especially for her, the onion cake.

Alex nodded as she took another bite and chewed it happily. “Yes, you are an amazing cook!” After swallowing her second bite, she too scooped some of the potatoes and the onion cake. She never had onion cake before and after the horse had hyped it up, she begged him to make her some so she could try. She poked at the cake with her fork before she took a bite and purred even louder. “Oh my god, that is so good…” Then she went for another bite.

The dishes clinked as Alex and Tashi took them from the table and to the sink to rinse them before loading them into the dishwasher. Once all the dishes were loaded, Alex turned back to the dining table and saw that there were two plates with slices of red velvet cake on them along with two glasses of red wine. While she was busy loading the dishwasher, her horsey brought out one of their bottles of wine and red velvet cake he had in the fridge for them to eat together. “Where did you get that?” Alex walked over to her side of the table and took a seat again. She lifted her wine glass up and clinked it with her horsey’s. Tashi grinned, “When I told you to go get some onions, UberEATS stopped by with red velvet. Can’t cook a dinner for my cat without having red velvet for dessert,” he chuckled. “I would have baked my own, but with the steak, onion cake, I don’t think I would have been able to finish it in time,” he snorted and clinked his wine glass with Alex’s.

After a few bites of cake and half a glass of wine, Alex pushed her chair back and stood up. “I almost forgot about the thing I bought!” She chuckled before running off to grab that Locos bag that she left in the bedroom. She came back just a few seconds later and plopped the bag down on the table in front of Tashi. She ripped open the tape that kept the bag shut and pulled out the box of the thing she bought. She handed the box to Tashi, who was still sitting in his chair and had some cream from the red velvet cake on his lips. He gave Alex a confused stare when she handed him the box for what looked like a toy at first glance. He put down his dessert spoon and took the box into his hands.
