Alex yawned and stretched her arms over her head as she walked out from the bedroom into the hallway. It was around a quarter past ten, the sun was high up in the sky and the birds were still chirping.

“Ugh,” Alex groaned, dragging her feet along the carpeted floor of the hallway and squinting her eyes shut as she entered the significantly brighter area that was known as the living room of the penthouse apartment. The automatic blinds were open, thus letting in the sunlight from outside reflect on the flooring and ceiling. She kept her eyes squinted for a few seconds and once her eyes had adjusted to the increased brightness, her eyes opened up as normal.

She yawned again and outstretched her arms in front of her. She smacked her lips and padded her way to the kitchen area for some coffee. She was not going to be able to stay awake without a little caffeine boost.

The tigress, dressed in her red bra, red panties with “Eat Me” written on them, and matching stockings, made her way over towards the kitchen slowly. She dragged her stocking-clad feet towards the cupboards that had the coffee mugs in them.

She tiptoed to reach the cupboard, grabbing herself one mug before she closed up the cupboard and stood back on her feet. She let out a heavy and tired sigh before she padded her way to the kitchen counter that had the coffee machine on it.

Standing in front of the shiny black Keurig, Alex had a glance at the different capsules and flavors that she had and thought about it for a bit.

“Hmm… Do I go for black, or vanilla?” She pondered to herself.

Shrugging her shoulders, she plucked the vanilla coffee capsule and popped it into the machine, pressing the button to initiate the brewing process once she had the capsule in its slot. The coffee machine beeped and then made a loud noise as it turned the capsule into coffee in Alex’s mug.

As the machine buzzed and filled its surrounding are with steam, Alex closed her eyes, extended an arm out onto the counter, and closed her eyes.

‘Brrrrrrrrrrrr,’ the coffee machine continued to sound off as it filled Alex’s white mug up with brown wake-up juice.

Alex’s nose wiggled and danced to the smell of the coffee as it filled the kitchen. There was nothing like the smell of vanilla roast in the morning. She started to purr softly and opened up her eyes just as the machine’s noises started to calm down.

‘Beep,’ the machine went, signifying that the coffee was ready to drink.

Pushing herself off of the counter, Alex stretched her arms upward before bringing them down to grab her mug of coffee with both of her hands. She brought the brew to her nose and let the steam that rose from the mug hit her nose and fill her nostrils with that good smell of coffee. She purred more, and happily, but slowly made her way to the kitchen island, careful to not spill the hot coffee everywhere.

At the kitchen island, Alex set her mug on its surface and climbed up onto one of the stools, sitting on both of her knees and leaning the upper half of her body over the counter, using her elbows as support.

With messy bed hair, she held the coffee mug in both of her hands and pulled it up to her lips for a small sip. She blew at the hot coffee for a few seconds before taking the actual sip and let out a nice refreshed sigh afterwards. She smiled at the coffee and looked at it for a bit, then put it back down on the countertop.

“Alexa, how many days until he comes home?” Alex asked, her hands still around the coffee mug as it was nice and warm, cats were known to like warm things.

The Echo smart speaker that Alex had in the kitchen for queries regarding recipes lit up after she said the activation command and started blinking its lights as it processed what it heard.

“It’s seven days until then,” her home assistant replied with her slightly robotic voice. The folks over at Amazon had done a great job making the voice more natural, but it wasn’t quite there yet.

Alex smiled, “Seven days,” she pulled her coffee back up to her face, then tilted it up for a sip. “Seven days until he’s home.”

Alex cooed happily and set her coffee down again, “Alexa, buy Smash Bros for the Nintendo Switch, so I can play it with him when he comes back.” She purred and wiggled her shoulders happily. She was excited for him to come home. She could feel a red blush forming at her cheeks just thinking about him coming home.

“Okay, I’ve placed an order for Super Smash Bros Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch,” Alex replied, “It will be here tomorrow with your free Prime One-Day Shipping.”

“Great,” Alex nodded, smiling even more to herself. “He’s going to love that..”

Glancing over at the fridge, Alex felt and heard her stomach grumble.

“But for now, breakfast,” she chirped as she hopped off the stool.
