BONUS POST! 🌌💎 Steven Universe Illustration: Making of (Patreon)

A little bonus for you: a little making of  a Steven Universe Illustration I did for a fanzine a good while ago. The topic was "decadence" so we had to make them look ✨fancy✨!

This is a piece I struggled a lot with. I added some of the first sketches where I tried to create a composition with the crystal gems. Group pictures are haaaard. But creating their designs was a delight!

The last picture is the scanned and untouched original. Scanning watercolors can be awful, much colors just get sucked out of the picture. The grey parts in the backround? Thats was mostly light pink and light blue. 🙄

The finished piece got a loooot of retouching by my dear friend Glasmond 🌹(who also helps me run this Patreon, in case you didn't noticed.). She loves to pimp stuff. She edited tons of details, have much fun switching between scan and edit! 😂
