Hi all,

So when my subscribers decide (for whatever reason) to leave my Patreon, they are asked to fill in a quick survey to get an idea of why they no longer want to support an artist. In most cases it is simply that their finanical situation has changed or that they only inteded to support for a few months. But some times they leave specific reasons.

I have had a couple of people leave the following:

- The creator wasn't engaging like I expected.

- The creator didn't deliver rewards as promised.

Now, I believe I am doing my best to fullfill all the goals I have set, but reading this makes me wonder if I am missing something? Am I not doing what you expect? Am I failing to provide enough work? Is there somthing I should be doing that I am currenly not?

The surveys do not show names, so I cannot contact them and ask these questions. But I would like to know if I am failing you in some way.

If any of you have any ideas on why people may be leaving for the above reasons, please feel free to comment so I can correct these issues.

Thank you for your continued support!

Berri x

People are ficcle things Berri. Best I could advise is perhaps more interaction in the discord server. To me you have always filled out the rewards on time and to a good quality.

I can't answer the question. I have no desire to leave, and can't find myself in those reasons. However, my two cents: "The creator wasn't engaging like I expected." Maybe this is not so much your 'fault', but more the expectation of the patron? As you know, English is not my native language, and I'm unsure of how to interpret 'engaging'. I can imagine someone signing up, having this idea of you being available to chat / message all the time (which of course is not true). And discovering the truth, they leave, putting up this reason?...... I'm just guessing here. :-)

Ok. I'm not sure what to really say in the discord tbh. I post when im streaming, but there doesnt often seem to be many people using it to interact with them.

Thanks Hof. I guess if they don;t contact me its a little hard to know how to imporve what I'm doing.

What teir where they, it could be that they where upset because all the high teir where full so they could not get any art.

wishberri

Maybe, but the tiers are shown on the homepage, so its clear what is available. Speaking of which, there is an $80 slot open now.

Might be people upset about the card game or just the art your doing or maybe like Zerchves says maybe they dont like how the tier system is set up. They could just be grumpy butts trying to get under your skin too. Either way your stuff is great and looking forward to seeing more great stuff from you.

It could literally be people selecting a random option because Patreon makes you fill out the survey. I feel you've been delivering everything promised, I wouldn't read to far into it.

I can honestly say I don't see what you need to do to improve your services on Patreon, I'm glad to be here.

I have a few suggestions. I think when people initially come on board...idk if this platform has a DM feature, but it'd be cool to receive a message saying: Hiya, thanks bunches for coming aboard, please take a look around, etc. Even if it is a canned message you can find out if they want to talk on here or possibly don't have time, etc. Gives you the idea that there's a fun person on the other side and feels more inviting than a large page of images and a zip download. Another thing I'd suggest is leaving a 'rough schedule' of when you usually go online on the top left if possible. The placement on the tiers which you'd be less likely to look at after you've already subscribed on the right seems less likely to be looked at. In my case it all took place during times I wasn't available to go online to see. If someone is only on a month they'd be more likely to miss out if they haven't gotten used to the timings. That's another thing that might help too...some more chances to be interactive on here would be nice. Even if it's not related to artwork or a general opinion poll. It's fun to hear your opinion on things and for some it might be the only interaction they might be able to get if they're busy. Leaving a message you can respond to during your convenience about 'the best diaper scenes in movies' sounds like a fun thing to have.

Thanks for the suggestions! I will defo look into doing this to help Patreons know when I am availabel and to give them a more personnal connection. As far as I know when you sign up you should get a welcome email from me, but maybe thats not working? I will investigate. Thanks!

I was expecting some people to leave because of Christmas etc. Just not that they were unhappy with my service. Hopefully It's just a few people.

The card game is still happening. It's taken way longer than I planned and I guess people are grumpy about it. If that is why I got the message then I understand, but it's not really thre place to voice it.

I mean it says: now you are a patron of WishBerri, but I don't see anything that seems like it's from a human. Just looked through my e-mails to double-check and didn't see anything like that. I'm glad to help, if I was more familiar with Patreon I could probably give some better tips, but I'm brand new to supporting people on here. To be fair...some of the stuff people might come back to you with is more a weakness of the design of the Patreon website itself or needing a login to see the other streaming sites where you are drawing...you have to admit it's a lot of hoops to jump through if you don't already frequent those sites and not your fault at all. Your artwork and bubbly personality just need to shine through.
