Good afternoon!

I've played some of the new System Shock remake, and since it's gotten a lot of coverage (and still has some things that I pray get tweaked up over time like melee feedback) I'm not gonna be doing a video on it until sometime in fall at the earliest. While I'm still getting stuff recorded for Sins, I did complete Northern Journey over this week so there'll be a video on that in this coming one if jury duty doesn't take too much time. It should be a shorter video so even if they put me on something heavy I don't think it'll eat into the release, but you never know.

That said, I've realized there are too many games coming out this year. I was already thinking about how Aliens is getting a new tactics game this month and was then told Trepang2 is also coming out. I swear it's been like every two weeks this year something I'm interested in playing in/doing a video on is coming out and I am extremely not used to this. There's also still a ton of older stuff I want to do videos on, and I do want to try and keep a balance there. While the videos have been edging towards the longer side, that has meant less of them which isn't the ideal tradeoff. One problem has been trying games out for a video and finding out there's not much I could actually say about it since it can lay in this sphere of "okay" that I don't think makes for either an entertaining or informative watch. Then sometimes I get blindsided by something like Northern Journey (technically I had put some time into it a while back but some other stuff came up) where brain worms scream at me to make a video for it right there and then, and I'd like to have room for that without throwing off anything scheduled or voted on here off too far.

So to give myself more time I'm going to drop any real life contract work for the next two months or so. I doubt this will be a permanent change, and it doesn't mean an explosion of videos, but I do want to try and get to a better pace and see what can happen if this is all I'm focusing on compared to balancing some things out. I still have no plans on outsourcing anything like writing, editing, etc since that kind of defeats the purpose of why this page was made (and why I started this in the first place). I've been at it for long enough now that it might not make me crazy and spinally healed up enough to where I'm not melting at a desk anymore so I think it's worth a shot. I'm never a fan of putting my eggs in one basket if I can help it which is why I think this will be a temporary deal, but if things seem to be going well and the video pace is kept up without devolving into WatchMojo tier I'll see how I can balance things out in the future.

Thanks as always for your support!

I believe in you Mandy! This year has been crazy so far.

I feel the pain, there's more games coming out than I have time to play. Diablo 4 truly is the resurrection of evil! Personally I enjoy 20ish minute videos for that same reason. I would rather have a once a month 20 minute video that is well produced than an overly long 40 minute video or multiple videos that burn you out and don't have the same heart. Another streamer I enjoy, Soviet Wombat, put out a 2-3 hour video recently which I skipped through and enjoyed but it was just too much even if all of the content was good. Brevity is a quality of its own.

I'm always happy to watch whatever you put out. However, is The Third Age still in the works or have you scrapped that video?

For what it's worth I'm perfectly happy with a few shorter videos on games you have less to say about sprinkled in with the rest - it's all good stuff.

Not Your Valentine

I'm perfectly happy watching a 10 minute video as I am an hour+. Always excited for any upload regardless of new or old. Always a great watch
