Dead Space Extraction and After (Patreon)

Good afternoon! 

I hope those of you who managed to actually complete the Anonymous Agony video are recovering well. The next line up will be much more relatively normal compared to whatever was going on there.

Up next is Dead Space Extraction, likely to be out next week. Ended up going back to replay the game again on a harder difficulty, and while there's no foam finger this round I did find other things to talk about so the editing on that is in full swing. What comes after is where things get iffy.

I'm planning to have a 2-in-1 video for Homeworld Remastered, since the package covers both Homeworld 1 & 2, and some extras like the "lost" Raider Retreat mission. At the same time I want to talk about the 2.3 Player's Patch mod a little bit, as Gearbox never released their final planned patch for the game to the public and instead only a partial snapshot release of what they had which the mod is based off of. It includes a lot of quality of life fixes, balance changes, and several huge bugfixes though some aspects like Homeworld 1 formations still don't work quite as well as the original. This is where things get complicated.

After the AVP Extinction video I actually managed to get in contact with an ex-dev who contacted me and enlightened a lot about how that game came about. He also happened to continue his game career and do an extensive amount of work on the Homeworld Remaster. I dropped him a line recently since he wanted me to reach out again when I was going to cover it, and last I heard from him he said he'd have some "news" to share soon. I'm not sure what that means. It could be they have another patch or hotfix for the first time in 5 years, or it could be nothing important at all. I have no idea yet. So that's one wild card in the plans for the video, but there's more.

My current plan was to cover Homeworld Remastered - > Homeworld Emergence (Cataclysm) -> Homeworld Deserts of Kharak, though now a mammoth is looming over the horizon with Total War: Warhammer 3 coming out in mid-February. So while I figured I might be able to back to back this in a shorter period like I did with the Thief series, this is an anomaly that's going to divide my attention on some mid-term stuff more than usual. I'm not sure whether that will mean putting off Emergence for later, or needing to restructure the schedule more. Once again I won't know for sure until I'm farther along with stuff, know whether the "news" will be something that will mean delaying the main Homeworld video, and just a general factor of holiday surprises since I always get slammed with various birthdays and events starting right around Thanksgiving into mid-January. So I don't have any decision polls or anything like that yet since there are still too many unknowns, this is just a heads up to keep you all in the loop in case something odd happens or I need to significantly change things ie covering a smaller game or two in December out of nowhere.
