Afternoon everybody!

It's been a busy week. Luckily I've been able to put some good hours into recording Gothic, organizing footage and doing some editing, and I'm nearly complete with my first playthrough. When I played it the past I'd usually end up doing quests in all of the camps before deciding on one to get extra levels, and in the case of recording it's helpful for having multiple save files for joining the different camps. This does mean that my first time going through is longer than average, but it makes it a lot easier for deciding on a faction later without having to go through the early levels again. I'm still debating how much I want to record of the other two, since I can't remember if there was a huge discrepancy between them. I don't think there was since one consists mainly of getting high in a swamp but it's something I'll figure out soon.

Going through all of it again, I forgot about how insane the Old Camp is. Being used to RPGs with crime systems or "you cannot attack in the city" blockers makes it something that still sticks out today. For those unfamiliar with Gothic, the setting is inside of a giant magic mining prison converted that had a prisoner uprising, and now the prisoners are the new guys running the show. The Old Camp is the first area you'll likely end up, and the "guards" (prisoners wearing the uniforms of the real, dead guards) force you to pay protection money if you want their help if you're attacked or get in a fight. To top it off they do it in sections of the camp, so if you paid off the guy who likes hanging out near the smithy he and his boys won't be able to help you out if you get in trouble near the arena.

Paying people off is a good idea too, since you can rob the camp blind including a bunch of metal you can smith into weapons. If you're able to lockpick boxes in huts fast enough you can make it out with MOUNTAINS of stuff. The owners will yell at you for a few seconds, then draw weapons and attack, but if you make it out in time they'll give up their pursuit. If you've paid the prison cops there's also a good chance they'll run inside and beat the shit out of who you were robbing. Gothic is wild.

While it's possible the video will be done in the usual time in a week, I knew going in that this was gonna be a longer project hence working on the mod video at the same time. I'm thinking the video should be done in time for the 28th, but if things go smoothly the next few days there's a chance it could be done in a week. I'm basically planning for the 28th short of a lot of things going right, but you never know. For that reason I'm collecting questions for the next video that you can leave in the comments below.

Thanks again! The work continues.

If I am not mistaken you said that you are not interested in modern games, I mean newest releases. But What do you think about state of a AA games like Styx or Shadow Tactics or upcoming Biomutant? P.S. some time ago I mentioned RTS Metal Fatigue, so it got released on GOG, yay!
