Evening!

I got back from my trip on Sunday. The good news is it looks like I have a place set up, and I'll be signing a lease in the end of July for it if all goes according to plan. This will make August-September a bit iffy on main video content since it'll be during a move in time, but I plan to have a video or two for the end of July to make the gap a little easier. For now I've gotten into full swing on the next two videos. The current release schedule for this upcoming Friday will be the first mod video on the Ultimate Apocalypse mod for Dawn of War Soulstorm.

As I've said before, it won't be too different from the regular review videos with the exception there'll be less of a focus on tearing apart the drawbacks of the mod and more focusing on the positive or interesting changes it makes. In the future these should be faster to make, but the first mod video has been requiring a lot of set up to get a process in place. So here's what's happened to make this so.

I've got the interview with the creator, Lord Cylarne, done with. I'm not sure what I expected when I went in to talk to him, and he was a bit of a strange guy but was also pleasant to talk to. Unfortunately, his microphone was "tin can" quality, so this is where Patreon stuff helps me out. The audio for the entire hour long discussion with him and his staff is currently being mixed and mastered by an audio engineer. This will help out the main video on the mod since the snippets I'll take from the interview for him to "speak" in the video will be a lot clearer which will make it both easier on your ears, and easier for the new translators and caption writers to work with. After all, I can't expect everyone working on a mod to have a nice microphone, so having a regular engineer set-up and time stamping the questions will make the process of making the regular video both easier and more efficient. Especially if I don't have to fiddle around with EQ to try and make someone not sound like they're living in a Prego can.

The Modder Interviews themselves are mostly hands off besides the creative tweaks I want done to them. I've also a hired a voice actor that might be familiar to some of you who will be a kind of "master of ceremonies" to open and end the videos, and I'm considering having an artist to do the backdrops for them. I'm still not sure how the interviews will be distributed, so it's likely I'll have a few collected up before they finally come out. It would be nice to distribute them on the main YouTube channel, but with how they're changing subscriptions it's a very, very bad idea. Basically even if you have the notification bell on, if a certain percentage of subscribers don't click on a video, it actually won't push the video out to other subscribers. So if you're understandably someone not interested in a longer podcast type of video and you don't watch them, you might not be notified of the review videos which is what people are there for in the first place. I'm still getting mails from people saying they weren't notified about the NecroVisioN video since it was demonetized, so I'd rather not have even more people miss out on some future videos that will definitely be yellow due to their content.

I might open up a second channel in time for those, or look to other free/cheap audio distribution stuff like soundcloud or even Spotify, but we'll see in time.

At the same time, I've started recording the gameplay for the next main game review. After looking over the polls, it's going to be the German RPG. Not the German RPG that was the sequel, that'll be later.

Thank you so much for your help! I'm still not fully transitioned into "most of my work time can go towards videos" mode but even now I'm able to do a lot more at once. I'm incredibly grateful for it.

Hey will you also do a Mod Spotlight on STALKER Dead Air? Seems to be all the rage right now and it looks really good.
