In DSAS V5, the editor now supports selectively activating actions that require "StateInfo" to activate. From Software uses this to only activate the action if an SpEffect is applied with the matching StateInfo.

By default, DSAS V5 has all StateInfo values disabled, so the associated actions are all disabled. When disabled, actions show a red "X" over them.

To quickly enable/disable a StateInfo value: Highlight the action that uses a StateInfo value greater than zero and press the "4" key on the number row of the keyboard. You can also do this from "Edit"->"Toggle StateInfo Of Selected Action(s)" in the menu bar. When you toggle a StateInfo like this, it applies globally, so all actions that use that StateInfo will be toggled on/off (showing the "X" over the action if it is toggled off).

To view a list of all active StateInfo values: open the "Entity" panel ("Window"->"Entity" in the menu bar to open it if it has been closed) and look under the "StateInfo Toggle" section. There you can tick a checkbox on/off for all known StateInfo values. Note: for the list of known StateInfo values, DSAS will automatically add a StateInfo value to the list if it is encountered during animation playback, so you might discover some that you missed by looking at that list (but the red "X" should be obvious enough in most cases).
