I'm working on improvements to Photo mode and quickly threw together this short video, to show off the new slow motion option! (It was a spontaneous recording for fun, which is why the quality is a bit lower than usual.)
You can toggle slow-mo mode to slow down time, anything from 50% to 0% of the normal speed: So if you set it to 0%, you can freely move the camera while time stands still and line up the perfect shot!
April Fool's
If you haven't seen it, I hastily put together a silly video for April Fool's—here's the announcement tweet, and here's the same video in slightly better quality!
Of course, this was just a sneaky way of demonstrating the unfinished Photo mode... But no one needs to know. Yet.
Letterboxing/Pillarboxing
Coming to theaters soon... Pawperty Damage: The Game: The Movie: Reloaded
Adding to the list of silly options in Photo mode, here comes the "aspect ratio" setting, which allows you to chose from a preset list of aspect ratios and will show either letterboxing or pillarboxing–for that quick-and-easy cinematic look... Unless you go for the portrait mode smartphone one.
"This happened to my cousin Eric."
Streams, Streams, Streams
After making the beta version of the game accessible to higher-tier patrons (and sort of lifting any NDA-ish restrictions,) I have also offered the game to streamers, in celebration of Macro March!
As a result, some really nice streamers have chosen to show off the game and play it live on stream: If you have missed them, you can find some of the recorded streams on Twitch, here!
Special shout-out also to KTqtpi and his really fun stream! Later in the stream I joined the voice chat to answer some questions, but feel free to skip that part—one day I'll work on my diction and develop a personality, but until then...
I really want to thank all the kind folks who have been playing and showing off the game! Seeing people enjoy the game and have a great time has really meant a lot to me, this past week!
On the downside, to be completely honest, watching people publicly play the game has also filled me with a bunch of anxiety as well, and it has been overwhelming at times. Especially, because the game just wouldn't stop crashing—sheesh—who programmed that mess, anyway?
Nevertheless, this was a very important step towards getting the game ready for release, and a really valuable experience! What's more, I have collected a bunch of really insightful feedback (and plenty of bug reports) that will help make the game better and more solid!
And, again, I want to thank everyone who has played the game and am really grateful for all the positivity and love for the game that I have seen, on stream and in chat! 💜
And Thank You for your Support!
I'm currently still working on improving the UI and UX of Photo mode, and it's slowly getting to a point where I'm happy with it!
The past few days I have sort of been in crunch mode, to fix bugs and get improvements into the game as fast as possible. But the long Easter weekend I will spend with family and take it slow, for a bit—you know, catch up on some sleep, haha!
When I'm back, things will kick into "the final stretch to release." Exciting!
