In another desperate attempt to make Nintendo finally sue me, I've taken some inspiration from BotW's stamina HUD!

When I set out to prototype this style of stamina meter, I wasn't sure whether or not it would make the HUD too cluttered, since it's all floating around the character.

But I've just found that thing so fun to look at, that I couldn't help but directly move on to polishing it...


"Nah, you were right, it is getting cluttered."

That's a fair criticism, honestly. One change I have made to help with that a little, is that the "Hide HUD" action now has two steps to it: In the first step, it hides any non-essential HUD, and in the second step it hides all the HUD.


Stamina Balancing

This is going to be an on-going process, but here's the approach I will roll with, for now:

When the character is small, stamina costs are cheap; when the character is big, stamina costs are high.

With this, you can start rampaging immediately with little to no regards to stamina, in the beginning of the game. But the bigger you get, the more you will have to start managing your stamina, making the late game more strategic... potentially, anyway.
