Watching Tommy trying to navigate and conduct meetings with a fractured skull actually made my head hurt he looked in so much pain what a performance. Great reaction can not wait for the next and dreading when its over as your past the half way mark.

My stomach literally hurt, watching Tommy navigate from place to place, obviously in a lot of pain. What an episode!

For catholic confessions: anything that goes against the 10 commandments is considered important to confess. Even murder can be confessed to, and a privilege of privacy exists, unless you threaten a murder, anything that already happened is not for the priest to tell the law. It is more about getting your soul right with god, thus the punishments given by the priests, sometimes higher bishops, is to pay tribute to the church, speak the bible text and learn the lessons. Self flagelation was earlier also done by people to atone. That's just to get the idea of it, all times and local laws where different. Find the strong faith of Polly quite interesting in the show, as you know their Romani roots also have lots of different beliefs, but Shelbys keep moving away from that. Interestingly, not Protestantism, which is the religion of the monarchy in UK. Now the duchess: I actually love her character, she is so much of a bored nobility, that she thinks of others just as peasants. Tommy is quite feminist and gives even his maids (or striking women) a bit of respect. Those worlds are now colliding. And no, the duchess did not kill or displace grace, she just knew shit was going down when she wore an expensive Russian sapphire.
