Brutal episode. They are up there without fighter escorts. Insanity.

This bombing run is when they started to become known as unlucky asf. Their bomb group didn't have the most casualties of the war because some bomb groups flew more so they lost more overtime but when the 100th bomb group did have casualties it was almost always big, losing almost half of your forts is insane

Awesome reaction, thank you! My heart was in my throat for the entire runtime. Reminded me of this poem, published by Randall Jarrell (himself in the Army Air Force during the war) in 1945: From my mother's sleep I fell into the State, And I hunched in its belly till my wet fur froze. Six miles from earth, loosed from its dream of life, I woke to black flak and the nightmare fighters. When I died they washed me out of the turret with a hose.
