So you guys skipped Reacher?

Stanley Tucci played 'Caesar Flickerman'. Lucretius "Lucky" Flickerman is most likely Caesar Flickerman's father, which we learn when Lucky needs to cancel his dinner reservation "for two with a highchair." And in The Hunger Games, Caesar was said to be hosting the Games for more than 40 years, so it's very possible he took over for his father.

There was more singing than I would have liked but overall it was a great movie

Suzanne Collins is such an amazing storyteller. I think she knew that we needed another hunger games with the current state of society. The movie translated the book wonderfully! Something that you do miss w/o Coryo's inner monologues is that despite any feelings he starts to develop for Lucy Gray, everything he does has a selfish motivation. Everything he does, he does it for his own benefit. He's always been manipulative to a point. Also, I love how you guys appreciate their names, and Suzanne also picked names with mythology that connects deeply to their characters. For ex: Lucy Gray is a character in a folk song that disappears in the snow. 😩 The last thing I wanted to point out was 1. I don't think Lucy Gray put the snake there to attack Coryo. It was cold out and it was likely attracted to the shawl for Lucy's lingering body heat. 2. The snake bite also likely made Coryo hallucinate to a point. Her cousin Maude Ivory was able to pass on Lucy's song "the hanging tree" and I think Lucy continued North to freedom. As always, I loved your reactions!

It suprised me that ppl were surprised by the singing. Lucy Gray is literally a Bard. A bard's gonna sing. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Jane

Yeah I got the Baird connection but I still disliked the amount of singing. I wasn’t surprised by it because it’s Rachel Zeglers thing (love her) but I would’ve loved if they included more things from the book and less songs.

I'd heard from multiple people that this movie was bad. I actually really liked it. I would quite like another as well. The casting for Lucretius 'Lucky' Flickerman was awesome. Looks pretty much identical to Caesar Flickerman.
