1st lets go

Using the Patreon video. I used it last time as well. It seemed to run smoothly, I didn't have an issue with buffering. But Patreon doesn't allow you to set the quality so it does get blurry randomly. Otherwise seems to run fine for me. Quick pause/play buttons for syncing up perfectly. So I can handle some blurries as long as I can sync 😆 Can't wait to start this episode! I'm both excited to see you guys finish this season, and sad! So happy you guys have been reacting to this. Thank u!

I think they killed off vibeka because that child actress was so bad... I cringed at her line of mother the entire time. Lol

Athelhelm is really creating so much chaos this season. He was a great villian in the last season, but this one he seems to have mastered his skills. Great character, hate him for all the chaos he created so far, and it doesn't seem to stop.

And I honestly don't understand how Uhtred, who was been through so much, still finds it in his heart to let Brida leave and not take advantage of her grief. He really has a big heart. And yes, you do that to Uhtred's son, there's no coming back for me. She crossed the line, like Aethelwold did when he killed Ragnar.

One thing people often miss with Vibeke is that she clearly was under the influence. She’s been raised to believe she’s a seer from birth while often clearly being high which is why the way she talks and her actions seem a bit crazier than the average kid

One of my favorite parts of the week is when Steven calls me an arseling lol

I know it’s a bit late to be talking about Alfred but I'm just catching up. And I think the differences between Edward and Alfred have caused a lot of the current issues. I also saw a comment about looking at “Alfred the Great” by Zurik 23M it’s from a channel I think you’ve reacted to before, but even if it’s in your own time it’s an interesting watch. Because I believe Alfred and Uhtred's relationship is what makes the early seasons. Alfred also stands as the only English monarch to be given the mantra “The Great”. As much Alfred has his difficulties ultimately He kept a peace for a long time and little division emerged. Even with a mercian leader who was to say the least difficult. the fact he didn't try to claim to be king of mercia until Alfred's death. show's how he kept him under his thumb. Also when Alfred's main adviser Otto who had served him for decades and even killed his son for alfred. Disobeying his orders even for the good of wessex he was going to have him tried for treason and executed. While the decision was a bit cold and ruthless, Edward always struggled with those difficult decisions. Allowing Athelhelm (farter in law) the confidence to act out in the way he does creating more issues. I’ve read the books by Bernard Cornwell (he actually had a cameo in the show). While other recent adaptations have been quite poor I’d say the last kingdom is an exception to that. While there obviously have been changes to the books. I can understand why and in some cases the changes are quite good. For example uhtred has about 60-100 men following him at most times it’s why kings are wary of him, while he probably couldn’t win a battle on his own he could definitely tip the scales of one. And that’s not to mention his tactics. But they just kept his best guys because of too many extras, understandable reasons like that. It’s one of the best adaptations I've seen since the 1st half of GOT. I know this comment is already way too long but an interesting fact is that the recently past queen of England was Alfred’s 32nd great granddaughter and so the current king his 33rd great grandson. Loving the reactions.

The inconsistencies in Aethlflaed's thinking came to the fore in this episode. Firstly, she said that plots will be made against her daughter and she may be in danger (true) But she then says she knows the Whitan will side with her daughter. Surley, any plots being made would involve members of the Whitan 🤷‍♀️ Another great reaction and discussion guys! 🤗🥰 P.S. Have I mentioned that Uhtred is too good a man for Saxons alone! 😇

Damn! I try really hard to feel for Brida. At this point, tho, I can't. Her loss was great, but others have lost too, and she just doesn't feel it. It's always all about her pain & suffering. I always wanted peace for her, and it never came. It's so frustrating. Poor Aethelflaed. Trying to rule & make decisions to keep Mercia safe while she's dying. She's a force, to be sure. She takes after her father, in that regard. Once again - great episode.

There is inconsistency in the writing in seasons four and five. The episode 3 is among the weak episodes of this season. When the writer changed for season 4 and 5, I thought to myself has she even seen the show.

Indeed, it just didn't make sense to me! Edward trusted his sister to make the right decisions and sent his army to support her, but she didn't trust her brother to have her back and instead, put her trust in others who are corruptible to ensure her daughters ascension 🤔 It's normally the other way round. Edward didn't trust that his sister would make the right decisions and listened to scumbags like Aethlehelm.

This seasons episodes about Ætheflæd everytime has me crying! Everyone who's lost someone like that has gotta find the storyline so accurate and sad. Amazing reaction as always, thank you!
