Val Kilmer has said he does consider Tom Cruise a real friend. If anyone's asked Tom about it, I wasn't able to find coverage. I don't really doubt that it's mutual, though. This movie took so long and went through so many issues to get made that I very much doubt they would have been able to keep everyone on the hook unless they really wanted to work together. And as for the question about the jeans on the beach, uh... people who have sponsorships from Levi Strauss. That's who wears jeans on the beach.
