after rewatching with you guys, I for sure am not team Criston and wish Alicent had shown up too late....let me explain: Rhaenyra was a virgin,i'm betting he wasn't, Sers don't have to be chaste, only kingsguard for the same reason as the night's watch...so that duty isn't encumbered by bloodties. that said, he is at least 5-6 years older, he knew what he was doing when he went to her bed, if breaking his vow and not marrying her meant that much to him, he would've confessed to the king. at this point we all see that Viserys is willing to and will stand behind Rhaenyra and cover for her and he hasn't a cruel bone in him...not like death would be on the table...his silence and stewing in the corners like a sidechick scorned when he had other choices drained all my empathy for him... He knew before he ever touched her that their positions in life made being together impossible, that was before he broke the rules, now that he's broken a rule, he want to be mad that they can't openly be together. it paints him as childish and spiteful to me.

and yes he's ruthless, but I love Daemon...if we're being honest, in the Got that we know, his position would have made him one of the characters easily discarded, his ruthlessness is what makes it impossible to ignore him. Think about it, 2 more heirs and a spare later and he's still considered a problem to us the audience, and in the plot of the show itself...

Sunaerys

Alicent is pissed because she protected Rhaenyra by saying to the king in the last episode that she believed her. Otto got sacked, and Viserys didn’t believe Rhaenyra anyway, since he gave her moon tea. So Alocent probably feel that her father was dismissed without reason, and she “finally” chose to side with him

FYI do not attend a wedding in GOT universe if your name is Joffrey💀

Will Whiton

The tension building at the wedding was epic. And they didn't provide any clues as to what would happen when the tension boiled over. They did, however, give us a visual representation of "beaten to a pulp."

Jon Freezin-Rain

May need to step away from GOT rewatches then, the characters there talk about this as history. I did that and while it's interesting (to me) watching it build it hinders the fun of finding out as it happens. then again I read SOIF before the tv show so......

Acash33

Alicent was pissed last episode for no reason when she thought it was true before her father got the boot. Also her father was dismissed for reason the king literally mentioned his scheming with sending Alicent to him.

Reins of castamere didn’t exist until Tywin.

The two dragons were both from house Velaryon remember they mention this episode they have half of the dragons.

I think Alicent instigated the fight at the feast. Think about it. Green indicates war for the Hightowers, she's pissed and conspicuously was Not in the Hall when the fight - that we didnt see how it started - began

House Powers

She was literally at the head table when the fight began, and she was at the wedding. Criston Cole couldn't control his emotions and decided to kill someone who wasn't wearing armor and whom he had disarmed. Viciously. We do not know how it started, and I believe the show did this intentionally to remind us that taking sides in this show is pointless. There is enough blame to go around for everyone, not a single person.

House Powers

Not for no reason, she thought that her friend and heir to the throne was risking the integrity of the Crown. Her father trained her to be a good wife & Queen, her concern for Rhaenyra's maidenhead may have came from an assortment of emotions, but the words she spoke were true, Rhaenyra was putting her own inheritance at risk with her actions and as far as we know, before this point (ep 5) Alicent wanted Rhaenyra to be Queen. The father was dismissed not only for his scheming (because that would've happened earlier), but for being the messenger of bad news. Targaryens and messengers, right?

Christopher B Frye

I'll rewatch that bit, but I was pretty sure she left the hall after she spoke to her...Uncle was it. Its entirely possible I missed it

Am I the only one getting stuttering on onehub.com? Cant watch the full reaction without having to pause the show 50 times so you guys can un-lag and catch up :/

I’m sorry but it’s not Rhaenyra’s fault that Criston got his feelings hurt. He knew he swore an oath and he knew he could lose his position or be killed for sleeping with her. And while Rhaenyra complained about being heir not once did she ever say she wanted to run away. That was all Criston’s idea. She was always going to marry a high born lord. He didn’t know her as well as he thought if he ever believed she would run. He is a disappointment and will be an even bigger one later.

Chandra

I don’t believe Daemon went to Runestone to kill Rhea. But Dameon being Daemon took advantage of the situation. Rhea felt threatened and reached for her weapon. Daemon was going to leave her there until she made that last barb. That’s when he decided to finish her off. In the book, Rhea did die the same way but Daemon actually being there is just a show thing.

Chandra

I’m still unsure as to why Alicent is so angry with Rhaenyra except jealousy. I could understand her disappointment that Rhaenyra didn’t tell her about Criston. She didn’t lie about Daemon. They didn’t really do much. That’s the problem with making them friends in the show when they weren’t in the book. Her anger at Rhaenyra now seems extreme.

Vargr

lol don't attend a wedding at all, regardless of name.
