We had a power outage so around the last 2 minutes of the episode reaction has been lost, that's why the show is there and we aren't.

We watched The Last Kingdom on Netflix

This is a watch-a-long so you do need to bring your own copy of the episode to see it, there is no PIP. There are a few visual cues and a timer to help you sync up.

I’m glad you like this show guys, and I'm sure that you’ll like it more and more 😊 The battle in this episode is the same battle in the final episode of "Vikings". Of course, neither Uhtred nor Ivar was in the actual battle. Guthrum did exist, and was baptized after the battle. In "Vikings" they took Guthrum's story and gave it to Hvitserk...guess which’s the new name that Guthrum’s got 😉 At the end, Uhtred is riding with Hild and Halig to their new adventures 😊 Fun fact: just as Uhtred's long sword has a name, “Serpent-Breathe”, according to the books, his short sword (a sax) also has a name: "Wasp-Sting". Destiny is all!! ⚔️

This is why I think Last Kingdom took a closer approach to the actual history than Vikings which is more loosely based on the sagas from what I've read on the internet

Lololol I was like what is happening , but the Halloween wrap was super funny👻. Glad you loved it! Emotional. Cry with the baby and Beocca’s talk to Uhtred everytime!

Ps. In case Nikki forgot Hild♥️ was gang raped by 4 Danes. So..Not her being a bad Christian wanting to fight back. She just wants to protect people from being assaulted too. It was actually common to be priest warriors. 🗡excited for s2!!!!

Actually, Bernard Cornwell wrote his books "The Saxon Stories", inspired to learn that Uhtred the Bold, Ealdorman of Northumbria and Bebbanburg, existed and is descended from him. Although the hero of the series is a fictional character, since Uhtred the Bold lived more than a hundred years after the events of TLK. In fact, Bernard Cornwell himself acknowledges that he took certain licenses when writing the novels, in addition to the existence of Uhtred and other characters, he also accommodated certain historical dates, to "speed up" the story a little in his books :)

Father Beocca is one of my most favorites! Always king of the comebacks and such a great father figure to Uhtred. I agree that the bonds and relationships in this show are something that makes it so special.

To answer one question about who Uhtred was riding north with at the end was Hild and Halig, the man who was saying "I have skills!" and guarding the horses when Uhtred and the others rode up on their way to Uhtred's farm.

Having read the books first, it did take me a while to warm to the casting of Uhtred. In the books he's tall and blonde. I think Alexander Dreymon definitely grows into the role as the seasons progress.

I had to finish the season; it's a weeknight for me. Totally worth watching to the end. Great reaction!

So glad you guys loved this episode and as you were saying, so many things wrapped up in just a episode, this is what I love with TLK, it's not slow. Get's better onwards!

I don’t know but when I watched the video most the video got a black background of the TLK why is that?
