They are totally riffing off of the Church of Scientology in the plot with Deagle and The Deep. One of the main things the CoS has its members do is to cut ties with any friends or family who speak out against the Church or who aren't 100% for the Church. Anyone who leaves the Church and/or speaks against them is considered persona non grata and fair game. That was one *explosive* cliff hanger ;)

This was an interesting episode and rather mild, until the end. I have been thinking about Homelander's son, Stormfront referred to the boy as the first natural born supe. Is that a for sure? After the boy was born, without his mother knowing, the scientists could have injected the baby with compound V. Just a thought, I know nothing. As for defeating Homelander and Stornfront, I can't think of any natural way but if somebody somewhere has an antidope to compound V that would reduce or remove the powers that compound V gives a normal person, that might work. Once again just a thought, I know nothing. Good episode and good reactions Nikki and Steven.

What if stabilizing the V meant reproducing the powers that someone has and refining it to a specific injection? Stormfront wasn't particularly bothered about killing a subject, so they probably have a "refined V" to make specific superpowers available readily available (or a way to make it). Now we know that Homelander's son inherited his powers, so genetic material has a part in determining that. I'm guessing that they're refining the V in a way that makes specific mutations rather than random ones. And so I'm thinking that most of the people in Sage Grove are based on someone else, i.e. a template who got these powers by chance, and now they're trying to reliably reproduce the same mutations/powers with varying degrees of success/randomness. I wanted to think that Stormfront's unusual level of involvement means she is (one of?) the templates, but I don't know... What does she have to do with Love Sausage for instance. The Church of the collective theory is interesting. Maybe Alistair negotiated with Edgar to install a couple of converts into the Seven in exchange for taking care of Edgar's problem (namely, that witnesses of his skeleton closet have their head on their shoulders). But where did Sage Grove fit into this?

I think Stormfront exploded those people’s heads. She was/is the prime suspect in the other CIA lady’s head. Not sure how she does it. 🤷🏼‍♀️
