i watched the first 3 episodes of dark with captions then tapped out and went to dub 2-3 episodes in. I did the samething for Moneyheist. Both very very good shows! ozark better.

It's nothing like stranger things btw. I hate having to read foreign subs this was a first for me but after getting through the first episode I was hooked, probably the best show netflix has put out imo. maybe better watching it without reacting as I had to rewind a few times to re-read. Most mind blowing show I think I've ever seen trailer doesnt even do it justice.

I think Craig said it best. I didn't find the dubbing weird until I tried to also follow the subtitles. (Weird, I know, but I watch everything with subtitles). They don't match the dub. Even if you choose not to react to it, it is definitely worth trying to watch off camera 😉. Thanks for the great reactions guys!

Love this show! I have watched this show 5 times not counting people I have watched react to it lol.

I’ve watched season 1 and been meaning to watch 2. It’s very very good and Dark is certainly appropriate (it’s far darker than stranger things). Personally, I couldn’t do the dubbed. I always prefer original language and for this the dubbed didn’t have the same mood. I’d say definitely watch it, but maybe not a reaction one.

OMG i was just now thinking, if Nikki and steven did this, I'd have to mail her 10 notebooks. How funny... what a coincidence!

ps it's BRILLIANT. It's challenging and creative and I heart it. one of the most creative works of storytelling I've seen ever. pss not much like stranger things... except mystery. But not the mystery you are thinking... . trailer shows very little which is a good thing!!! :) 👍🏻 BRILL

I‘m from Germany, watched it in German and I watched the first season and I sadly didn’t like it. And I love Twin Peaks and the first season of Stranger Things

I’m pretty sure I said almost 2 years ago that this show is right up your alley, but it’s hard to react too with the subtitles. One, it’s a very complicated storyline. Two, unless you watch reactions on a laptop/computer on fullscreen mode, those of us that watch on an iPad or phone could never keep up with the subtitles on the video with such a small screen and the even smaller video box on the reactions, and Three, the dubbed version is terrible for this show. Who hires these people? It’s obvious they don’t even know the story or what emotions that the characters are displaying. You would hate that format. I loved this show in its native form, but it does have a “Westworld” like plot in some respects and I know that show presented a source of frustration, so this one might too. You never know until you try it. And yes, get notebooks. It’s one of those shows.

I would very highly suggest to watch and react to the show. So many other reactors did and loved it. For your retention problem with subtitles: I know other reactors, who had the same problem and therefore started with the (bad) english dub. They all switched to the original with subtitles after trying the first episode in english and it worked for everyone - retention problem or not. So I get the fear, but so far, everybody who had the same problem managed and loved it in the end. The series is very worth watching or at least trying. Give it 2 episodes. If it still doesn't work then you still can stop. But I'm convinced you would love it. It is a carefully crafted mystery story arc over 3 seasons. The final season will be aired this year, so it is the perfect time to catch up now. And each season only has 10 episodes. It also would help you, that you watch as a couple and not alone, so you can help each other to fill in some blanks in the post show discussion. But don't worry. The show will reveal its mysteries over time very clearly. This is not another Lost. As example watch the intro of the first episode reaction from Greywolf TV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQBapj1IX4M He was totally convinced he could not watch the episode with subtitles... then he tried... and it worked great

There’s a really great show called Les Revenants. It’s in French and it’s subtitled. But it’s so good you quickly forget you’re reading subtitles the whole time. They made an American remake a few years ago called The Returned. But it was nowhere near as good. Another foreign show with subtitles that’s really good is called The Rain. Season one was really good but I couldn’t get into season 2. I may go back and finish at some point. I haven’t seen Dark but I hear great things about it. Also Money Heist I’ve heard good things about but I haven’t seen that either.

I like this show, but it is a bit thick and the subtitles make that more so. The original performances are amazing but it’s still going to be a good story if you watch it dubbed.

Have seen both "Les Revenants" and "Dark", they're both great but Dark is on a whole notha level of complexity and twists but watch it when you do have a chance. Haven't seen Money Heist either but it's on my watchlist, will get to it eventually lol.
