This was such a good episode! It was hinted on FTWD and Talking Dead who Beta was before the Apocalypse started, I do believe it was the episode where Daniel had his stuff taken away by the group that didn't want them to leave supplies in the road. I can't recall who the leader was, but one of his men threw out Daniel’s record collection and one of the records had a familiar face on the cover. That's the reason the whisperer who recognized Beta got killed for it.

And I never thought about it, but yes—Carol probably did a lot of this shit to throw off Alpha. Although, I don’t think she got Magna and Connie trapped. I'ma go ahead and get the fact that it was a great episode outta the way now (probably a TL/DR so proceed with caution). Ok, Negan redemption, I agree 100%. The introduction of Negan is all we know about him from them until now. The fan bias with only that in mind should pull 70% of those with said bias. Another side of that is this: We know exactly how Rick and Team Fam got to where we are now. We know more about Team Fam than we do about Negan and the Saviors. They came in at season 7, so there's a whole other show's worth of history about how he and the Saviors came to be what we were introduced to at the end of season 6, for 2.5 seasons. With that in mind, we've never seen him exhibit any outright hatred in regards to animals and we know he's very sympathetic towards kids. He copped an attitude with Carl because Carl was being an asshole teenager. Anyway, with all of that information to consider, his actions since they jailed him have spoken volumes about who he seemingly wants to become. He's still cocky but he sees the error in his old ways. That's where my mind is on the subject anyway.

Great reaction. Just watched the episode (we’re a day behind here in the UK). I assumed Negan was on a secret assassin mission and it was obvious to me that Lydia was in another cabin, but I was sure it was Daryl who let him out to go and do this, so the Carol reveal was so good! As for his redemption. The rational part of my head says he is, as that’s a huge move in the game he pulled off, but my heart still feels bitter about Glenn and Abe, simply because it was so brutal! And yet I do love Negan as a character and hope he’s around a long time! Also, sad to see Thora Birch go so soon. I wondered if her and Alden were going to have a thing together. Oh and Beta - wasn’t there a theory he’s the singer on the cover of one of the vinyl records, so he’s a bit famous. And little Judith was brilliant. Damn good episode (although I wanted more battle)!
