I couldn't wait until you watched this premiere!! Esme constant disdain for Tommy is the reason all of this happened. They could've been gone the night before!! All of them are traumatized from being almost hanged. She handled it all wrong. You cannot get mad at the situation you're in when you willing accepted the marriage. You married all of it: the good, bad and the ugly. I love how they all dump on Tommy but if it wasn't for him, they would've never gotten where they are now. Tommy plays everything close to his vest and takes their disdain with aplomb considering circumstances. You are correct in that Tommy is lonely. You are literally seeing what Tommy is without Grace. She was his safe place; soulmate. He could let down his walls with her and not have to be everything to everyone. Without her, he reverted back to being a stoic, aloof and calculating man. He can disappear in his work and receive reward without disappointments and disdain. This is why he pays for pleasure. I absolutely love Cillian Murphy as Tommy. Its a tour de force performance thus far. Its a stellar cast all around. Helen McCrory as Polly is divine! Receiving that note woke her up faster than a detox could! Tommy and Polly are two sides of the same coin. They work best together. Arthur not having guns period is such a departure for him. He's the enforcer of the family. Michael is right the Peaky Blinders doesn't exist unless the family is together on one accord. Now let's see who survives this ride! Love the reaction!

Wow, great season opener. Don't forget that Tommy was seconds away from death in the season finale the year before, so he knows exactly how it feels. This season is starting off like a barn burner again!!!!♥️♥️♥️

BTW, Jesse Eden is actually the same girl that played Queen Iseult in The Last Kingdom. She's in a lot of great stuff now...

From this episode Esme became one of the most hated characters in the show because if she went to the meeting none of them would have been shot.

I agree. Esme and her "main character syndrome" is the reason John is dead. Thinking they can just duo against anyone who comes after them. He was such a good character. I was so pissed at this episode lol.
