Hey All!

Here's the ramble for the month of May! A little more on time this time!

This one is about being overwhelmed, as we all get sometimes. Felt good to share, hope you can find something to relate to.

Lots of exciting things in the works. Lots to look forward to!

Thank you so much for the support, I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Love, Joel Haver

Taking a break is a good idea! Watching all the Oscars was challenging but fun! The drained expression you seem to have in this video looks like my face (has it really been two weeks since I watched them all?). You got this Insaneo Man! ❤ I'm doing well, filming some things tomorrow!

Just scootin’ around to unwind sounds like a good time 👍

Preach. As a father of 6, downtime is at a premium for me. Coincidentally, occasionally “hitting the sticks” and playing Smash Bros for a bit after bedtime has been my go-to for years. Stay classy, Joel!

Being alive is awfully inconvenient. I'm glad I have video games to keep me goin.

I definitely think about this quite a bit. As an older millennial I still have the mindset that there is a structure and necessity to always work hard and do the menial things at home that make up life in general. But society is different now and ME time is necessary to survive and thrive. Word up bro.

Man oh man, can I ever relate. I call it "the wall of overwhelm". The wall can be made up a few big things or a bunch of little things. I tend to hit it when none of it has any clear priority. When everything's important, nothing's important. Time to just sit and be...sit and do nothing... is so very important, and so underappreciated and unencouraged in the US. Yeah man, being in a funk is nothing to apologize for. Funk away. The only way over it is through it.

I'm about to watch this but I actually just woke up from some crazy dreams, and one thing that happened was I a new Joel film came out! It was an action movie. I wish I could remember more, but there was a scene of Joel steering a speeding car through LA streets with a maniacal laugh.

Still can't believe you watched them al! We'll talk soon as the awards approach, would love your input. Hope filming goes well :)

Anna! When everything's important, nothing's important, hit hard! Taps right into how I feel sometimes. Thanks for that. Wish you the best!

joelhaver

Hahah, sounds amazing, hopefully it was a film and not a premonition! They'll never take me alive!

Jennifer, I saw your video where you said you watched all of them. I'm confused and baffled! If you don't mind me asking, how did you accomplish this? Did you actually sit down and watch one after the other? Did you watch them at 2x speed, or have four playing simultaneously on split-screen mode or something? How long did it take? Also, any recommendations? I've seen a few already.

Jennifer Bauman

Hi Evan, it does seem impossible, but I did it. The way I did it, was very unhealthy and I hope no one tries. Haha! I watched a few friends at first, then went down the playlist, sometimes jumping down the playlist when new ones were added. I did not use 2x speed. It took 2 and a half weeks. Also, I had no life, didn't sleep much, watched constantly, would even watch them while talking to people, barely took care of myself, and lost quite a few pounds. My recommendations are on a playlist on my YouTube Channel.

Love how you retracted your apology for being in a funk. There’s nothing wrong with it. I don’t really enjoy being in a funk but it’s a necessary break between other parts of life, and it happens to everyone. Just gotta get through it and when we have others understand and help out, it’s just a little easier. Love the ramble as always. See you next month man.

Evan Snyder

Wow! That's awesome! And thank you, I will check out your list.

Dear Joe, Thank you for being a creator whose true to himself. You’re a rare cocktail of creativity and humbleness, and it shows. Every time I get the new updates I’m eager to watch the creativity unfold, and feel I am never disappointed. As for life, its like a stone being rolled over by a semi on the highway, but sometimes that very stone flies onto another highway that’s right on the side of the road. The obstacles which hurt and seem to push us back, push us forward- my very best to you sir - Avery

That’s amazing Jennifer! I’m sorry you weren’t in the best place when you watched them. If they do it again next year maybe make a schedule to follow, even writing in when to eat. Time flies sometimes and it seems the first thing out the window is self care. I’ll definitely check out your channel as well as your list.

Jennifer Bauman

Aw, thank you Cassandra! 🤗 I do have a problem with self-care, I'm working on it. Haha.

Moving to LA is a huge transition. It's a huge place filled with huge egos. Like you said, you know yourself and know what you do, which will carry you through this transition, but it's rough entering such a saturated place! A lot of your earlier work seemed to flourish in unassuming places, small places and communities, so it's an understandable shock to be juggling your personal work and jobs and friends in a new happenin' place like LA. Thanks for sharing, hope the vibes settle soon.

I had been away for a bit and finally had to time to watch this. It's definitely not too much of a bummer. I relate to so much of it. Honestly, the rambles are soothing. I don't know, perhaps it's just the confirmation that we're all human and feeling like this sometimes is pretty normal. I'm glad you share these. The past year or so, my brain is almost always in "AHHHHH" mode. SO much has happened at once for me that the tiniest thing sometimes makes me very anxious. I have to remember to relax and concentrate on one thing at a time. Or just...not do anything for an hour or two. I may play games on PC, but that is definitely one of my main stress relievers. I try to venture out with a camera once in a while to get back into the practice of taking decent photos, as well. Just anything to get a change of scenery when I feel like that, really. I have noticed the threes thing....I am currently waiting on the third thing. Here's to hoping the third thing is so small in comparison, that it happened already and I didn't notice! :D I wish you the best in all your ventures. Keep up the phenomenal work, Joel.

Very well said. Joel, your words have been as genuine and true as they always were since I first discovered your channel in 2020. Great talk.
