Here's some of an answer, there is technology in place to ensure that the benefits of a shower can pass through the hard mandatory exoskeleton of the slave, and benefit the biological skin beneath. It does make it somewhat troublesome to go to bed less than twenty minutes after showering.

eh, usually not. but in some cases enough persistent grime might accumulate that this becomes necessary. in which case it'd have to be removed and cleaned under strict supervision
