Two episodes in one! You spoil me, haha. I'm so glad though because I've been dying for you to get to Princess Prom. It's very widely regarded as one of the best episodes in the fandom. Or at least one of the first episodes to really reveal what the show is going to be moving forward as things get more serious and the action picks up. Regarding Shadows of Mystacor, it's a really great episode that dives into Adora's psyche and the damage that Shadow Weaver did to both her and Catra. Shadow Weaver was basically like a mother to them, and she was not a very good one, obviously. I love how the show adresses that, and how it shows Adora starting to come to terms with it and move past it. Unlike Catra, who is still stuck in that toxic relationship. Aunt Castaspella is an OG She-Ra character as well, although she was not Glimmer's Aunt in that version as far as I can remember. It has been a while since I watched the original show, but I don't think that was ever mentioned. Her character in the original does have an interesting relationship to Shadow Weaver though. I'll save more info on that for future episodes. Princess Prom obviously introduces us to Princess Frosta, and yeah, she can be pretty strict huh. I think it comes from being so young and in control of her own kingdom. She has to be strong to earn respect, as she says in the episode. She doesn't like being treated like a kid at all because of that, even though she is the youngest Princess. But yeah, she is also VERY strong. In the OG version, she was depicted as much older. In fact most of the Princesses in the original were older, and looked a lot different to their modern counterparts. They were basically designed as toys, so they all kinda looked similar. I much prefer the newer version because of that, the different body types and ages and ethnicities is just so much better in my opinion. I love the dance scene between Adora and Catra, and the little fight at the end, when Adora saves Catra. The dip! <3 Sorry for how long this message is, haha. So much to cover! Oh, just one last thing. Glimmer's little wings on her back. I'm not sure if they're supposed to be tattoos or not. I have always thought of them as little birthmark wings, because her mother has wings. Like a genetic thing. I think it's a really cool detail though.
