it didn't change the navoos course, it moved the entire asteroid out of the way of the Navoo. From Miller's perspective it looked like the Navoo changed course, but it was Eros that was moving. This and the next episode were basically a two parter broadcast at the same time when it was first on the telly. Not sure if you recognised the doctor, it looked as if you thought you recognised the voice. In Ep 2.1, when Miller and Holden were in the Medbay, getting their treatment, there was a newsfeed on one of the monitors. It was the Doctor talking about the humanitarian crisis on Eros. Basically he belonged to some 23rd century version of Doctors without Borders.
