Congratulations, Van! You just watched your first "clip show." A lot of series used to do a clip show near the end of the season. Producers would get close to the end of the season and realize they were over budget and behind schedule, and clip shows were a way to get them back on schedule and within budget because they didn't have to shoot too much new footage. Thankfully, they've been replaced by "bottle episodes." Most clip shows are just plain tedious, but this one was pretty well done. They had some decent plot outside of the recappy scenes. And that reveal at the end was awesome!
