This movie is so good but god it feels bleak considering everything going on right now. But i was glad to watch it with someone who could still laugh throughout it. It’s such a good film.. I have an impossibly high standard for horror. ..I remember being so damn excited when they announced this was in the works.. in like ‘08? I was a sophomore and had just watched Buffy and Angel.. Apparently they, like, filmed it in ‘09 and they had something hold up the release of it and it wasn’t released till ‘12.. it was interesting because, although Chris Hemsworth was unknown when they filmed this, Thor ended up coming out the year before the theatrical release of this.. So people were a little befuddled.. but it also drew a larger audience.

I think the studio went bankrupt and the movie couldn't be released until transfer of its ownership had been ironed out. Something like that. Joss and Drew talk about it in their DVD commentary. They talk about how it made them sad, but that it also benefited the film.

[elmo fire] YESS! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 There's pretty much no reactions to this movie. And as someone who watched it years after it came out, I was like "!!! this obscure pop culture topic needs to be re-brought up!" Van, I sincere value your patreon content. In fact I know it like a fact because recently I culled almost all my memberships for money reasons. But you and Liam, I cannot give up 😄 UNfun/depressing/horrible blunder fact about the movie: Fran Kranz's character wears a mountain of shirts for the lake scene because they thought he'd look 'out of character' otherwise since bro is ripped like a greek god: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mDFOZfPrK24/Ul8QO_HJpoI/AAAAAAACF_E/_mkedNvWHIo/s400/fran+kranz+shirtless+7.jpg Not to mention while filming, he and Chris Hemsworth liked to work out together by boxing. So technically, Thor and Topher have fought.
