I started watching this show after another Glee fan recommended it to me when I said I loved Alex Newell’s (Mo) character on Glee. I loved it right away, because music is extremely important to me (to be blunt, I’ve struggled with depression ever since I was very young and I know I would have killed myself a long time ago if not for music). I don’t like to open up emotionally with people at least not verbally face to face, but I love sharing music with people, because that’s the best way for me to connect with my emotions. I don’t sing out loud, at least never sober whilst in public, but if someone could read my thoughts I would be singing a lot in my head. It’s such an amazing superpower that Zoey has, but really I think it’s metaphor for having empathy, and that’s something so many people in the world are lacking. So many people are so self-absorbed and they can’t see things from other people’s perspectives. They don’t even try. Zoey is forced to see how people around her are feeling, even when they can’t or won’t show it. But Mo is different than most people, because unlike most people Mo doesn’t hold back, and Zooey doesn’t need to hear what Mo is singing internally to know what Mo really feeling. Mo sings all the time out loud anyways. Btw, I’m purposely not being gender specific when referring to Mo, because the character is non-binary. Great reaction. I had a feeling you would appreciate (is it too early to declare your love?) this show and pilot. A lot of times pilots for shows are rough and flawed and not the best representation of how good the show is going to be, but I feel like this pilot is perfection. It was funny and exciting but also very emotional. The “True Colors” scene between Zoey and her dad has made me cry multiple times now.

You are doing so many shows, so many of which happen to be favorites... Thank you. This is one of the best new shows I've seen in years.
