It was nice to see you talk a bit more about Topher and Adele the last two episodes. They're really interesting, complex characters, and I've seen a lot of people view them as just horrible monsters. They have their faults, big ones, for sure, but they're more than that. I personally feel for Topher in this episode so much. He is one of my favourite characters in this show. And seeing him in this episode was definitely eye opening when I first watched it. It's really sad, like you said. I mean that was his birthday, and he has no one. He has to create a friend for himself. It breaks my heart.

I think in that kind of work especially, you’d be fulfilled in certain aspects, but wow, would it take a tole on your ability to have a fulfilling, sustainable relationship outside of work.. Topher created a best friend that comes to life once a year.. you see how much they clicked.. but even considering that- if that persona existed all the time, would he be able to sustain that friendship? Considering what they do- the ethical qualms, how their lives revolve around it? He is lonely. And clearly Adel.. Very lonely. Even depressed maybe? But that’s a result of their priorities.
