Here's something a little weird. It appears that there is more than one version of the moment that Kira gets hit by the car. The version I have on DVD, and the version that JuliDG watched: both showed more of the moment that Kira gets hit by the car.

It appeared that Delphine deliberately withheld Kira's existence from Dr. Leakey. Interesting.
