GOSH does it feel good to finally have this project out there! Dan and I started brainstorming this track back in 2019 when the song was announced! I initially pitched the idea to Dan as a song just for him, when the TV themes in the trailers gave me the idea for a 'Dive Into the Madness' sequel abut 'Tuning in', but Dan liked the idea enough to invite me onto the track too!

This was an incredibly fun track to put together, I'd always wanted to work with old archive samples, its something I've loved hearing in music for as long as I can remember so with Little Nightmares 2's television themes it seemed like the perfect time to explore some public domain archives!

Often songs I write focus more on the themes and the world of the games I am covering, this is partly because I find that more interesting than simply re-telling the games story, partly because I want to make songs approachable to people who may not know the game and get them interested without spoiling it and partly because my songs often have to be written well before a game releases to have time to make the full project.

This often means that songs need to be written based on the available marketing, trailers, plenty of research, etc. Most of the time this works out great! 'The Fine Print' was written entirely off of game trailer information and chooses to focus on one particular world, no particular characters and talks about the themes of the game.

I've had a lot of comments on this one lamenting that the track doesn't tie directly enough to Little Nightmares. On this occasion the marketing pushed hard on the TV themes and not a lot else so that's what we ran with! A song about the Signal Tower and its effects on the residents of the Pale City, a world consumed by television.

Ultimately I love the track and am very proud of what Dan and I put together, I hope you all enjoy it to, even if it is a little more loosely tied to the game than perhaps some people would like! :)

You can be really proud of what you both did. It has become one of your most entrancing videos to date, and one of my favourite video collabs. The game is well represented and we get story telling of the world build around them. In resume... ¡Encore!

Hello, I started listening to you because of Fiend like Me. I am a big fan of Evil Genius 2, and the song is perfect. I now show the video to people who ask about the game. I'm here on Patreon because of of your other songs such as the Fine Print, Shelter from the Storm, Slide into the Void and A Matter of Factories. Then there's the Frostpunk "Rap battle" with Dan. Between the two of you, you took me to a place that was cold and morally confusing. I loved it. So I knew this song was going to be something. I thought I was ready. I was wrong. The bang you heard from California was the sound of my head exploding. I just don't have the words to describe how I felt on this journey. You have every right to proud, You've done good.
