Also remember kids film grain does NOT equal 'realism', why? because we only see film grain in cinema and photos, IRL we don't see it outside well, grainy textures like dirt, wood, concrete, etc...

Film grain is a stylistic choice and a side effect of potato cameras and nothing else, the same for chromatic aberration which is only present in glass and diamonds.

You want to replicate real life and not photos, because photos are replicating real life, so all you doing is replicating something that is replicating something that you want to replicate, we want to cut the middleman here aka the camera.
