I was thinking, starting this month, we might do anime movie night? Like each month, I can watch a classic anime movie as a test for getting into anime. I was thinking we'll start VERY classic, with the iconic My Neighbor Totoro. I have seen this movie, but it was like, 10 years ago and I barely remember it. I don't watch anime and I figured it would be a good start :)

Would you guys want that? Or nah, you dont care for it? Be honest, cause I don't wanna spend time watching the movie and recording if you guys don't care for it!

Studio Ghibli movies are absolutely amazing and as someone who loves both anime and animation (as well as filmmaking) I’ve enjoyed rewatching them several times over the years!

ooh if you wanna start with anime movies, I’d highly suggest Doukyuusei or Umibe no Étranger!! both have been my recent favorites and they’re so cute! they’re both shounen ai (anime term for BL) and the way they had been executed were so good! Studio Ghibli movies are also a great introduction to animes, especially if you wanna test to see if you’ll enjoy them or not but I hope you’re able to react to my recs (or even just watch them on your own time, but I’d love to know your thoughts on them!) at some point. Either way, I’m excited to see whatever you’ll react to! :)

I’d actually recommend “ A silent voice”- The manga was my absolute favorite in middle school and I reread it a million times- but the movie still manages to make me cry. It’s such a sweet story about growing up, and taking accountability for your mistakes and learning. The voice acting is absolutely amazing. (I only watched the original audio so idk abt the dub, but the characters are played with so much emotion) it also deals with one it’s main characters behind deaf, as well as mental health. :D
