I believe the thing with Sakura is that she received so much backlash from this point onwards continuously that she developed a block when it comes to singing. I also think she sounds fine (not amazing) in her audition but maybe if she's asked to perform it now, she'd struggle because she knows people don't want her to do well. Lee Hongki is great, he should be a vocal coach in more shows. But I feel like mnet prefers coaches and trainers who are abrasive, I think that they think it makes for better tv. I think they make the signal songs high on purpose to get edits of trainees struggling. And with the dances too, they tend to give them a lot of little movements so that it's harder to memorize. Also, the Japanese members were flying to and from Japan throughout the show because they still had schedules for their groups. The rigging in this series wasn't about the screentime. They actually manipulated the votes which is why the PD was tried by the law. They weren't able to do that with ZB1 so they tried to give certain people more screentime and a more positive storyline. Like in Boys Planet, I don't think they really wanted Ricky in the final group whereas it seemed like they wanted Park Hanbin. But because it was left up to actual votes, Ricky made it.
