His color didn't actually change, not permanently, that's just how he looks when he's in sleep mode. It's been a while, but that's exactly how he looked early in S1 after he named all the goblins.

Merciless is actually broken and here's why: The ability to seize the souls of anyone begging for their lives, seeking help from the user, retreating, or running away. What they didn't say is that once the condition is met, the soul can be seized at any time afterward across even very long distances instantly and the user gets informed about any malicious thoughts by the target immediately. Basically, everyone who surrenders to Rimuru will forever be at his mercy.

Correct me if I'm wrong because its been a while since I read the Demon Lord arc, but Merciless got absorbed into Beelzebub right? The way the subs made it seem was like he lost the skill

It should be mentioned that the Unique Skill Great Sage evolved into the Ultimate Skill Lord of Wisdom Raphael, and is so much more powerful, its not even funny. To make things clear Rimuru did not loose any of his skills during the evolution, furthermore practically all of them evolved as well. The skill degenerate was not "sacrificed" for Great Sage's evolution but was combined with Great Sage, Magic Sense and a few others to Produce Raphael. The same thing happened with Gluttony's Evolution into Ultimate Skill Lord of Gluttony Beelzebub. I doubt that the anime will go into detail describing which of Rimuru and his subordinate's skills evolved and which new skills they obtained, so if anyone is interested I suggest looking it up on the wiki.
