For the record, Nanami is proof that you can make more than one pact. His overtime and the fact that he revealed his technique to Mahito are two pacts that grant his technique more power. In exchange for a demerit against your opponent you gain more power. It's called a heavenly restriction in the manga and works very similarly to the restrictions and pledges from Hunter x Hunter. The main thing is that it gives the characters a reason to explain how their powers work mid-fight, since they are giving their opponents an advantage by telling them how their techniques work and a clue how to counter them (that's the demerit). BTW this ain't a spoiler, Nanami explained most of this and it somehow catches your attention more in the manga.

You're mixing up heavenly restriction and binding vow, binding vow is what Nanami and any sorcerer can do, heavenly restriction is limited and IS a spoiler. Try to not give too much info if they are actively asking about something

SPOILERS: That’s something that quite literally RESTRICTS the person born with a heavenly restriction. I don’t want to say much in the comments but just know that when those two had that interaction, the only one that was explaining abilities was only one person and it wasn’t Toji. Just check up on his wiki page, you’ll get a clearer understanding of the difference between the two
