Yes, Mirio is stronger without his quirk than Deku, but he is 2 years older. Deku continues to improve his body, also he has some knowledge of how to fight. Also, Mirio has bigger experience of what to do in fights thanks to Nighteye.

I don't remember exactly how long the arc is from reading the manga.. but i feel like the arc will end like episode 18-21. wonder what they are gonna do the last 5 or so episodes lmao. they must have some hellah filler backstorys planned

The next arc is short there's only 2 more episodes of this maybe one wrap up episode if the trailer was any indication it showed 3 dates which I'm assuming means this episode and the next 2 might show as a special screening in Japanese theaters otherwise I don't see why they'd hype up the next 3 episodes like that (that includes this episode)
