Kind of annoying when you kept saying "she getting clapped".... idk, it would be nice not to assume someone has to die all the time. It's not Game of Thrones. Just wait to see what happens, instead of assuming what's going to happen. Predicting is one thing, but assuming and anticipating so much almost sounds like you want them to die for the sake of gritty violence and gore. What's hilarious is that she ends up NOT by the end of the episode. So idk, maybe someone actually doesn't have to die? Maybe Asuka could actually succeed in protecting her friends, yeah? I never got the feeling they would get killed, not once in the entire episode. Just my two cents.

I really liked how they focused on the actual psychological part (PTSD) of the "continuing story" here. I hope that they continue to flesh that out well because it has so much potential rather than just the "bloody magical girl" fad.

You mentioned that you thought that Asuka's eyes looked robotic. From what I remember, they looked just like that in the manga as well, but I also think that it also gives her some room to potentially improve if she starts to get a bit of her humanity back instead of just being a soldier that has fought for most of her recent life and going through the things that she has. You saw how she reacted to the smoker and that it was almost programmed, so I think that they may just be giving her some room to grow.
