Dev Blog March 7th 24 (Patreon)

Hi patrons!

First, thanks so much to everyone for supporting this project in its early stage! ❤️

It’s roughly a week since it first went public and I am humbled by the amount of members who already show their trust and interest in this game by becoming a patron! This is a huge motivation to push forward and make this VN the best it can be.

I also want to make sure you get a lot of value out of the “Raider” tier, so I decided that instead of posting random bonus content here and there, that clutters the patreon feed, I will assemble them as “treasure chests” that include multiple items like HQ bonus renders, alternate or high res versions of scenes from the game, wallpapers and photorealistic renders / other “Clara” related stuff. Think of it like digital loot boxes.

Of course I’m also open to any ideas and suggestions you might have when it comes to the game or bonus content, so feel free to comment or write to me directly any time.

In regards to the actual game development, I’m planning to do maybe 1 or 2 more small updates to Chapter 1, that include quality-of-life fixes and maybe a bit of additional content, but nothing major. For instance, I received some feedback that the hidden object / point and click parts are annoying or too hard. To me, they are essential to at least have somewhat of a game and challenge, but I can see why they may bug someone who just wants to experience the story. So I’m planning to implement a difficulty setting, that allows players to get optional direct hints for puzzle sections.

There have also been some requests for Android and Mac versions, which I’m investigating at the moment.

In the meanwhile, work on Chapter 2 has started. The beginning of Ch. 2 will have some linear-ish story scenes similar to Chapter 1, but then it will open up to a more dynamic gameplay system, which will take some time to implement. But I can imagine releasing an early access / preview version of that first part to patrons so that you can already get your hands on some new stuff (and maybe “get your hands on” Clara as well 😉 ).

So yeah that’s a quick update on the state of things, more details soon!
